Dewlaps

Cockatrices all have a dewlap, or wattle. These are little connecting skin flaps from the bottom of the beak to the neck. The dewlaps/wattles on this page are shown as they are fully extended whether they just sit there or are actually able to extend and retract. (Look up anoles and chickens!)

 

Here are the different shapes and kinds of dewlaps and wattles that are registered as "official" types.

Earlobes

Before you choose your dewlap/wattle, choose if your Cockatrice's earlobe is visible! Sometimes this patch of skin is more prominant or not visible at all.

Dewlaps/Wattles

Small Dewlap

A common type dewlap. Discreet.

A common type dewlap. Can open and close to show pretty patterns! Yay!

Classic Wattles

common type wattle. Two little skin flaps for your very own big chicken.

Dangling Dewlap

A common type dewlap. Wrinkly and long like an iguana...

Spiked Dewlap

An uncommon type dewlap. Hard scales have formed into bumps that sometimes look like spikes! This kind of dewlap is usually thicker than others.
